Born (1978) and raised in Venezuela to Colombian parents, Leonardo Montoya is first of all a musician. Leo has been a dj since he was sixteen, and 2000 was the year when he became a House Junkie. His sets are very unique, for he likes to blend different genres of house together. Don't expect a fixed or closed format; be ready to take a journey into the escence of various styles of house music. Although a resident of Orlando, Fl, USA for more than a decade; where he is currently a resident dj and plays all major clubs in the city; such as Destiny, Firestone, Sky 60, Rhythm & Flow, and Suite B; his talent has earned him guest appearances in notorious venues, stations, and events such as El Divino (Ibiza), Holiday FM (Ibiza), Space (Miami), WMC Space closing party (Miami), WE LOVE COLOMBIA ‘CARNAVAL’ (Bay Front Park Miami), Pawn Shop (Miami), Nocturnal (Miami), Tantra (Miami), The Raleigh Hotel (Miami), Opium Garden (Miami), The Cafeteria (Miami), www.TheWomb.com (Miami), Stitch (NYC), Al Modo Bar for Boggie Nights (Caracas, Venezuela), La Serata (Juarez, Mexico), Kudeta (San Juan, Puerto Rico), Showtime (San Juan, Puerto Rico), Fantasy Island Festival (El Dorado, Puerto Rico), Morros 47 (Cartagena, Colombia), Chopin Haguen (Bogota, Colombia), and www.darkdrums.com. Throughout his career, Leo Montoya has had the pleasure of sharing decks and venues with artists such as Dj Dan, Judge Jules, Paul Oakenfold, Sandra Collins, Bad Boy Bill, Roger Sanchez, Junior Vasquez, Jonathan Peters, Donald Glaude, Robbie Rivera, David Christopher a.k.a "T. Confucius" from Rabbit in the Moon, Peter Bailey, Willie Morales. Frankie Bones, Starkillerz (Nick Terranova), Austin Leeds, Dj AM, Adam Freemer, Ivano Bellini, Cedric Gervais, Qba, Tom Sawyer, Lemoch, Lazardi, Sultan, Sander Kleinenberg, Jenna G, Shamizo, Ivan Robles, Luigi Rodrigues, Santos, Dorian Issac, Mike "Hitman" Wilson. And Orlando's local Djs: The Funkpunch Crew, St Pete, Carlos Mendoza, Fobia, Mot, Elias R, Kenabix, Ed Abisada, and Gino Sutera. With some minor productions already under his belt, Leo is spending more time in the studio sharpening his producing skills. Along with other artists, Leo Montoya founded VIVE!, an underground movement that promotes events where House, Art, and Love meet. With nothing to prove, Leo Montoya just wants to share the music that he loves and enjoys so much.
